The Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences announces to its members, associates, friends and any interested party, the extension of the deadline for the submission of abstracts, for the participation of speakers at the 8th International Scientific Conference on the central theme:
«Society, Education and Politics: Relations and Restraints»
The Conference will take place in Heraklion, Crete, from 8 to 10 July 2022. The work will be conducted in the physical presence of the speakers. At the same time and for any interested speakers, the Conference Program includes online presentation sessions, through a web web-based videoconferencing application and posted digital announcements.
The official languages of the 8th International Scientific Conference will be Greek and English and the speakers will be able to submit their summaries in the language of their choice.
The deadline for the submission of abstracts is extended until January 31, 2022.
The Conference focuses on the multidimensional and dynamic relationship between society, education and politics. Particular emphasis is also placed on the effects of the pandemic on society and education and on public policy responses and challenges. The Conference raises, among other things, contemporary and critical issues on an international, national and local level.

The above includes scientific announcements, research, studies, good practices, teaching scenarios, presentations of educational software and materials, etc., related to the central theme and the thematic areas of the Conference. The full texts of all the works approved by the judges are published in the minutes of the Conference, regardless of the form of their presentation. Detailed instructions for the structure and format of the presentations and announcements will be posted on the websites of I.A.K.E.

Those who wish to participate in the Conference as speakers - by presentation or posted announcement or workshop - should send a summary of their work through the special form on the website: http://iake.weebly.com. All guidelines and format requirements can be found on the same website. The text of the abstract should be up to 300 words and accompanied by the authors data, as well as the indication of the type of work and the thematic area it belongs to.
Each paper can be submitted by one or maximum three speakers. Each presenter may participate with a maximum of two papers, in the capacity of first, second or third presenter.
Acceptance or not of the abstract will be announced by February 20, 2022.
The presenters will pay the amount due after the approval of their abstract, on dates that will be announced in the next announcement.
The I.A.K.E. will award the best scientific works, per thematic area of the Conference, in the categories:
Α. Best scientific work
Β. Best teaching proposal
In order to support young researchers and scientists, the most valuable works submitted by: a) undergraduate students, b) postgraduate students and c) young scientists presenting a scientific paper for the first time, will be awarded.
Competition results will be published by the Scientific Committee based on the general results of the anonymous judgment of the final texts of the works. The process of judging the final texts follows the evaluation of the abstracts. The full texts of the works are evaluated based on their qualitative characteristics in the criteria of: a) originality, b) methodology, c) structure, d) content and e) documentation.
Only works submitted by April 20, 2022 will be accepted in the award competition.

Within the framework of the Conference, a series of parallel activities and events are planned, aiming at the acquaintance, the entertainment and the interaction of the participants and their attendants.
